Indian film Muthayya (Telugu) won the Best Debut film at the Meta Film Festival in Dubai. It is directed. by Bhaskar Maurya. Here’s a short interview with the producers Vrinda Prasad and CH Hemanth, who I met at the Meta Film Festival in Dubai.

Muthayya is named after the central character in the film. In a remote village, a 70-year-old man dreams of becoming an actor. His much younger best friend Malli helps him in his unique journey of making his dream come true. What follows is a blizzard of events that make you smile, laugh and admire at the simplicity of a story well narrated and made.
The Telugu film has Sudhakar Reddy, Arun Kumar and Purna Chander. The cinematographer is Divakar Mani and its music composer is Karthik Rodriguez.
