JAWAN HAS A STRONG SOUTH CONNECT AND PAN APPEAL

The intriguing preview of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has justified it clearly that this action thriller is going to be a superhit and will set new records. Well studded with all the massive elements and an ensemble star cast from all across the nation, the film is undoubtedly the hot topic currently. Well, we assume it’s just the beginning, SRK has already engraved his name in the record books and Jawan is all set to take it a notch higher.

Jawan has already made Rs 250 Cr. after selling the rights of the film to T-series.Trade experts believe that this Atlee directorial will do so for a variety of reasons.

THE STRONG SOUTH CONNECT

Recently, Producer G Dhananjayan told, “Certainly this film will do very well, as Jawan has got all the South stars ranging from Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, music director Anirudh and director Atlee. All of them are popular and the South audience will have more connection with them. Hence, the film has a bigger opportunity to do well in the South, especially post the release of the Jawan Prevue, which has created a very good impact.”

While many shared their opinion, the Film expert Sreedhar Pillai went a step ahead and said, “South India is the key market for Jawan as it features South Indian artists and technicians. The hype and hoopla that surrounds Jawan right now in South India is what we usually see for big budget South Indian films. Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest stars for South India and has a huge market in the South states. The Tamil dubbed version of Jawan will be as big as an original Tamil film. Moreover, director Atlee has delivered only hits in Kollywood and has a good track record here.”

While it was difficult to forecast the box office figure for Jawan in the South market as of now, trade experts said the rights for the film would surly sell well. Tamil Nadu rights could go for around Rs 20 Cr. while Kerala rights could sell for Rs 5 to 6 Cr., reportedly. In the Telugu-speaking states, the Hindi version of the film will do better than the Telugu version was the consensus. As for Karnataka, SRK has a good market in Bengaluru and rights are expected to be sold for Rs 15 Cr. there.

“This SRK film would probably have the best business for any dubbed Hindi film so far,” stated trade analyst Ramesh Bala, adding, “The Tamil version of the Jawan prevue has created a very good buzz here and it looks and feels like a south movie as well. if the content is good, then it can easily rake in Rs 50 crore gross in Tamil Nadu alone.”

Even the film trade in Mumbai was enthusiastic about the film, said industry insiders. Pankaj Jaysinh, CEO – Film Distribution, UFO Moviez India, said, “Records are made to be broken – everyone aspires to break the previous record, whether it was set by him or someone else. Jawan has all the ingredients for this – firstly, SRK has really added on to his fan base with Pathaan. Secondly, we have a good mix of talent by way of direction and stars. Thirdly, action movies work all across the audience class – they are fast-paced and fun to watch.”

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation, directed by Atlee, Produced by Gauri Khan and Co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will be released worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

As per trade experts, Jawan to become a gate opener in south market, just like Bahubali broke records in north market

Trade Analysts Predict Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to Become a Gate Opener in the South Market, Just like Baahubali Broke Records in the North Market!

The highly anticipated film “Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been generating massive buzz this year. A recent preview of the film showcased King Khan in a rugged and never-before-seen avatar, captivating the audience’s hearts. The response has been overwhelming, as fans and audiences alike have been swept away by the trailer’s impact. The film has become the talk of the town, fueling excitement among viewers. With such sky-high expectations surrounding “Jawan,” the anticipation to watch the film is at an all-time high.

The veteran trade analysts shared their opinion on Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, and predicted that the film will open massively at the box office, exceeding all expectations. Experts from the North and South are unanimous in their views of Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawan’s opening day take. According to them, the film has the potential to gross more than Rs. 100 crore on the opening day, and expected to gross 60 crores from the Hindi belt, and 35–40 crores looks possible from the South. The major reason for this massive opening is guaranteed by Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom and names like Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupati and Deepika Padukone coming together! It’s the true pan india appeal that will work for audiences across nation! Furthermore, it will be released on September 7th, a date when no major film will be released.

According to trade analysts, considering that ‘Bahubali’ opened the Hindi market for South films, ‘Jawan’ has the potential to build a new market for Hindi cinema in the South. Many single-screen owners are also claiming that this film will be a huge comfort following the losses they suffered during the lockdown. Sridhar Pillai, a veteran analyst, said ‘Jawan’ is the biggest buzz this year in the South market as well. This is why a price of 40 to 50 crores is being sought for the rights to release in theaters, and distributors are also agreeing, defining that it is both a South Indian picture and a true Pan India film.

‘In their time, Amitabh Bachchan and Jeetendra were making genuine pan-Indian films in collaboration with South filmmakers,’ says Atul Mohan. There was a time when our filmmakers began crafting films for the NRI audience. However, with the decline in profits from the outside market since Covid, the South market is being prioritized. On ‘Pathan,’ Shah Rukh received a lot of emotional support from the audience. ‘Jawan’ took two and a half years to complete. In proposing the picture this time, a new marketing technique is also being deployed. Instead of a direct teaser or trailer, for example, the term “preview” was introduced. To add to the enthusiasm, the trailer will be published very late, maybe just 10 days before the release. In such a setting, the talk surrounding the film suggests that it will comfortably start at 60 crores in the Hindi market and 30 to 40 crores in the South.

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation, directed by Atlee, Produced by Gauri Khan, and Co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will release worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
